Came across this rather interesting formula just now while reading through some write ups. The concept is to break down an hour to 5 portions of 12 minutes. (10 minutes for work and 2 minutes rest). Translation below :

懶人方程式事半功倍 Lazy Persons Formula.

“(10+2)*5”的概念是美國作家梅林曼恩(Merlin Maan)構想出來的。

Merlin Maan invented the “(10+2)*5 concept.

它是針對懶惰者、容易分心者、網路成癮者設計的一套做事方法,不需旁人或任何工具的輔助,步驟十分簡單易懂。
It is specially created for lazy people, people who are easily distracted and internet addicts. It doesn’t require any special tools or people to help you with and the steps are pretty easy to follow and understand.

1.先找個鬧鐘,計時10分鐘。 First get a clock and set a 10 minute times.

2.在這10分鐘內,全心全意的投入于你必須要做的事,不能分心。Within the 10 minutes, give full attention to what you would like to do and don’t get distracted.

3.10分鐘后,停止手上的工作,休息2分鐘,做任何你想做的事。After 10 minutes, stop the task at hand and rest 2 minutes by doing things you like to do.

4.休息后,再次投入于工作中。After resting, get back to the task on hand.

5.重複以上步驟5次。repeat the steps for 5 times.

6.一小時后,你會發現,自己共花了50分鐘在工作上,完成了不少的工作。In an hour, you will discover you had used 50 minutes to work and completed a number of tasks.
